neems 2,406
Some pish gets slavered on here on these type of threads. Most of you are thinking as a dog lover and not from the farmers point of view. Yes there sheep/lambs and yes they are bred to be slaughtered but thats doesn't mean the farmers just think of them as pound notes....i know how i feel seeing a pen full of birds ive had for only a few weeks with there heads ripped off by a fox never mind a bunch of sheep/lambs ive reared for months on end. The same folk bringing up the 'legalities' on here like there f***ing Judge Judy will no doubt be out next week poaching.......f***ing genius!!.. To right there Lab most are dog lovers but what gives this man the Right to Shoot 2 Dogs that (as far as we know) Haven't done this man no Harm . . How would you feel if a dog off yours got lost when out beating and you then find out the dog was shot in similiar Circumstances to these . . Would you say/think Ahh Well I Know How This Bloke Feels About Losing Stock So Fair Play To Him I Won't Hold This Against Him ? Has it not been pointed out that there had been sheep killed already mate? Im afraid if my dogs f****d off when i was working them, killed a sheep and got shot it would have saved me doing it when they decided to come back. If on the other hand they were shot for no reason and just because a farmer had a bad day then his day would maybe be getting a bit worse. I wouldn't however burn shit down and wreck machinery........i'm not an arsehole!! That's not really an eye for an eye though is it? they shoot your dog (for no reason) which you've put years into and you give him a black eye.

Now where does this stop.....you think if a farmer starts getting machinery trashed and barns burnt down(bullshit by the way, very little people have the bollocks to do that) that he himself might look for revenge? Put it this way you'd better hope if you go down that road that the Farmer is a sensible laid back type and not a gun ho character. But if he has the nerve to shoot 2 dogs in the head then we can assume he's not a f***ing softy....

danw 1,748
So how many folk on here have had a dog shot very few if any would be my guess and why is that well pretty simple you have dogs that are trained more than the average pot licker nearly every time a dog gets it the townie owner thinks tiddles is just playing and dont mean no harm to they stock think on this we all thought the video of fenton was funny but the reality is that is the common standard of training and lets be honest if you can't stock break a lab you shouldn't have a dog

Cleanspade 3,322
someone said they could test for sheep dna in the dogs mouth some folk dont live in the real world. its common practice to stick a bit of lambs wool in the mouth of a shot dog . i am all for farmers protecting there stock. but all to often its taken a step to far. i have personally been on stake outs for dogs worrying sheep and they have been shot (in the act) whats not to understand. its black and white. this farmer crossed the line. he should have his licence revoked at the very least. as for you guys deffending his actions. and having a go at the poachers. you will more than likely be farm stock or keepers. ?

Im not a farmer, landowner or keeper, ive even been known to poach at times,i hunt and kill things and call it sport, some would find issue with that. What i do know is that when you enter someones land you are responsible for your own and the actions of dogs in your charge, your also responsible for respecting the land and the landowners property, fences, walls etc.If you then let the mutts run amok out of control and the dogs chase, maim or kill livestock, then the dogs need a bullet and the owner needs re-educating in the ways of the countryside and responsible dog ownership. Some on here find issue with the way the dogs have been treated,i find issue with the way the dogs have chased, mauled and killed stock, when a responsible owner would ensure the dogs off a lead were trained in basic obedience and stock control, thats the real issue, the way the farmer went about it may touch a nerve with some, its not nice perhaps, but when stock is killed then nice goes out of the window and the realitys of life kick in,the reality is that the dogs killed stock and paid the price of poor ownership and lack of training. Ratreeper 441
Am I daft or could you not just pay for the damage done? When I was younger my dad walked our dog and was terrible keeping him under control, he managed to get through a hedge and kill three chickens. I went round and paid them £50 for the hens killed and all was fine after that, they could see it was just a pup and invited me back so he could be socialised with their other chickens! (which worked surprisingly well) No excuse for killing a dog that's already under control even if it just cost you £10k, if you kill it then you are 10k down and someone will want revenge, let it live and any decent person would pay for new stock. I can see a gray area for total assholes who shouldn't own dogs but with something like this you need to give the benefit of the doubt before resorting to killing a family pet. I agree with anyone saying they would do time if someone killed their dog.
