iceman001979 1,316
The way people are talking am surprised there's any hares left or these people have this super dogs that we hear about. The running season is starting later and later with the weather and people need start changing there start and end off season. If the hares are so soft in an area why run them???? Why not leave them until they are moving and go run some where else till they do??? Numbers game!!!!!!! Quote Link to post

desertbred 5,490
Any dog running the big ones can miss on the day, any man who claims that they don't is living in Disney land. I have run most kinds of quarry it is possible to run with a dog and for quite a while and hand on heart I have missed a lot more than I have caught . Believe me I don't keep shite dogs its the roll of the dice you get a dog that can run and use its brain, you condition it and then pit it against in this case the long ears and it is between them two, the dog runs the hare it is not so and so running so and so , the man knows what the dog has a chance of and slips accordingly. The adrenalin rush of the coarse is the thing that keeps lads coming back to the land season after season. It is often asked why is it the same lads have the best performers year after year stockmanship is the reason but now unfortunately, the new breed of coarser want to buy ready made dogs in and want to become famous without the graft to learn the trade and this is perfectly visible by the number of new dogs they run every season . Same the lad telling people get on the black lands LOL lads were running that land before I was born and I am 65 so its not something you have discovered recently also its horses or dogs for courses some dogs are big land and some are small paddock dogs and once in a blue moon a dog comes along that can run any where and any style. arcticgun 4,548
one bad day dont make him a bad dog, he won the forley and matches, his owner game to match him into other dogs, lads who seek his bloodlines will use him based on his whole career not just one day out I think or ones with sense will, no one forces the money out of anyones pockets and into the lads hands, same with any stud dog, its what they can add to the bitch you line or vice versa 3 Quote Link to post
