I think he should've punched out the nail hole, where the handle meets the fork and the groove where the nail head sits should be channeled out.

Then the whole thing re-blackened.

Maybe the top of the fork made to take the thera-band-ning.

Send it back and ask him to do it properly  .

Go on then...

Ill look forward to your better, much revised version

Sorry, I thought you asked for opinions.

If he's a blacksmith worth his salt he could do what I recommended.

I quite like the look of it, but with a wide flat handle like that I don't know how easy it'd be to hold square on so you can actually use it, looks like it'd be too awkward/uncomfortable to me?

What's it like to use?

You fishing for a hand picture :whistling:

Its too big and bulky for me to use to be honest....

But it does shoot fine, and would suit someone with bigger hands

Nice piece either way.

cheers. it was a cracking gift....

both horseshoes pointing upwards..... but ive had the worst of luck since getting it

all joking aside, I'm not a superstitious person....but I took my dogs out before work a couple of years ago and came across a horse shoe on the floor, decided to take it home and clean it up. When I got home from work my old dog was stood in the kitchen and was proper wobbly on his feet. Took him straight to the vet and to cut a long story short he ended up dying within a few days of kidney failure. Highly likely it's just a coincidence, but that horse shoe got taken straight back to that field and I'll never pick one up again!

If I were you, with the luck you're having at the moment, chuck the fecker!!!
