This is a copy of a Medieval Brigadine (leather waistcoat) around circa 1450 AD, it goes over chail mail as in photo.

I was asked to design and make it for my ex's Son who's a Blacksmith, he's going to make and rivet metal plates inside it.

The chain mail it's on here in the photo is authentic English pattern, it's all hand riveted links unlike a lot of mail seen today which is butted together and not riveted.

He'll be fighting in this and showed me the blood stains on the undercoat where he took a blow from an axe slicing into his elbow at his last re enactment!
