Brewman 1,192
Ireland can be expensive but if you had a look at Donegal you can go as remote as you like or as close to a town as you like. Expense wise it will be nowhere near the obvious tourist traps. Don't dismiss anywhere until you've had a looksie on the net. Hope this helps.

LaraCroft 863
South coast of Devon. Far enough to feel like you are " away", but close enough you don't spend all weekend travelling. Lovely towns, pubs, restaurants, walking, views etc etc, and won't break the bank.

Outlaw Pete 2,224
I thought about ireland but ive heard it can be expensive is there anywhere in england or scotland And yet Wales is too far away You'd pretty much have to traverse Wales to get to Ireland, wouldn't you? Unless you'd meant to fly? How about the Isle of Skye then? It has a ring to it, doesn't it? And, I've been there. F**k me! B&B signs are more common than street name signs in London! I don't know what there is to do up there ~ unless seeing genuine Rock Doves does it for you? But, the scenery as you travel there, by motor, is worth it alone. Scotland's not called " The Big Country " for nothing. And photo's can't do it justice. Seeing is being awed, for life! Back to Ireland; You want a weekend break, or to emigrate?
