Came across a flock of Goldfinches on Sunday while out with my dogs .Been a long time since i have seen that Got me wondering havent seen a bullfinch in a long long time I know they are a shy bird.......... none around.........WHATS THE PROBLEM ??

got a pair of goldies and a pair of long tail tits in the garden this year had bullys on the feeders ..... the mrs hung an old copper kettle up last and we had robins in it ...we`ve had sparrows blue tits black birds and ring doves nesting took a while to get them in--- .

Pet cats,not so many gamekeepers about these days so the sparrow hawk numbers are increasing(yes we know they never really shot any bop's but ;) )hedge rows going,sprays used by farmers many reasons really.

SS a good little pocket hand book is a handy thing and your'll surprise yourself once you start recognizing them how many more you will see :yes:

Ah! Is that what they are?

 

I see a few of those most mornings on my travels with the dog.

 

And loads of those black and white ones with a long tail, not Magpies :laugh: I know what they look like.

 

I might need a bird book I think ............

Every thing seems to be struggling for grub just now even seeing more pigeons at bird feeders and on the grass in the middle of roundabouts than in the fields
