Chid 6,551 Posted March 11, 2013 Report Share Posted March 11, 2013 if your towing a car on an A frame or dolly that is NOT broken down it comes under towing tailer law, (anything above 750kg needs to be braked and lighted, and secondary brakes and such incase of uncouplement) what you intend to do would be illegal... either tow it on a trailer or have it break down before you take it home Quote Link to post Share on other sites

blackdug 90 Posted March 11, 2013 Author Report Share Posted March 11, 2013 It,s a a -frame I would be using as I have a nice friend who offered me one ...I am working down south now and I have left my pickup in Glasgow for about a month now as a favour for my brother ....so my problem is that I want to take them both back to England but only my pickup is insured so I thought the a frame would be a good idea and I could kill two birds with one stone ....I checked the government site and it said I could only drive at forty miles an hour on the motorway which I think is madness and driving that slow is dangerous on the motorway....if I rented a trailer I would have the problem of returning it....just trying to keep it easy Quote Link to post Share on other sites
