You under estimate the wee dogs

I think alot of people, especially the younger people getting into the running dogs in the last 20 years. underestimate these brilliant gutsy little dogs, and also the fact that their owners don't go

yep we keep or money so we can be the richest country on this island when we go at it alone, no more being run by the English

What are you talking about 'bigdaz'?

Where have i said a whippet is capable of what an allround lurcher is?

Clearly not.

Dare say there are some that can do that bit extra....

But YES they are rabbiting dogs....

Ive no doubt my whippet has the heart to TRY more....but as a responsible owner.... why would i subject my wee dog to physical abuse from an animal far bigger than itself.......just to prove you wrong?

The answer is...i wouldnt....

But that deer....is well in the capabilities of my little companion......

The thread was a joke, to highlight this species of deer which would / could / possibly turn a bigger, stronger dog inside out....

But as per....as soon as whippets are mentioned.............:whistling:

all these small deer are pocket rocket cover busters  all the muntjac in this country are decended from those that escaped from woburn the same with chinese water deer.

Never underestimate those pocket rocket cover busters: they may be an easy target out in the open, but you needed a small fast dog to catch them in cover, and even then the dog was always at risk, not from the deer, but from breaking its neck or legs in woodland, fallen branches etc: I know: I've lost 2 dogs running them in thick cover, and a big dog is definitely at a huge disadvantage.

BPR, you put a photo up mate, I made a statement, then the whippet mob came out en masse, I'll confess I knew I would get a bite and I wasn't wrong.

I actually like whippets as it happens, but I think a helluva lot of whippet owners need to lighten up an realise their dogs are not capable of what they think they are.

if it was still legal my two 25tts would have learnt how to push them out by working together, but i would imagine they would pickup a boat load of injuries in the process, cuts.puncures.rips,tares and eye injuries thats even before the contact with the quarry was made. its said that in the past some just preffer when pressured to face the dog rather than flee, others were said to be like hot snot through the denses cover

It would be a shame if they escaped, and began to breed in the wild .
