franchi 0
Hi guys my firearms ticket is due for renewal soon and would like to get rid of my 223 and add a 243 mainly because i have been asked to do a bit of deer stalking and rather than have two rifles i would use the 243 for fox and deer, my question is how do i do this ? on renewal do i have to sell or store my 223 with a firearms dealer before i fill in my renewal as if they say yes to a 243 i wont be able to hold my 223 and as I will have sent my ticket back with my renewal i then wont be able to mark it as sold on my ticket ( i know this is very confusing) so any help would be very much appreciated as I'm sure this sort of thing happens all the time thanks guys Quote Link to post
TWOTWOTHREE 152
Hi Its all confusing it prob gets us all a bit stumped at times,I personaly would just apply on renewal for a 243 and if and when its granted, just flog the 223,and then its off your ticket, you can do a one for one but as your paying for renewal soon you can ask for as many calibres as U want on the application form as your paying for the renewal,i think you can ask for a time slot to get rid of one and buy another, not sure, ask Paulus I think he aswered a simlar question,on a previous post Atb Edited March 10, 2013 by TWOTWOTHREE Quote Link to post
The Seeker 3,048
No point in asking for a one for one variation as been said just put in for a variation for a .243 and leave the .223 on your ticket, that way our under no pressure to sell the .223. It won't cost you any more to do this. Quote Link to post

dixyhmr 62
I run 40 grainers through the .223 and 75 grainers through the .243. Theres only afew occasions when the .243 gives me any real advantage. As has been said already, just apply for the variation then youve got a while to decide if you want to part with the .223 or not.
