new ground

Recommended Posts

Have just been given permission on a bit of land near me.Decided to take the dog's up after work this afternoon for a recce, and see what was about. We walked the perimeter of a potatoe field, and had to keep calling the dog's out,as they kept chasing what i thought were young rabbit's.Wrong! they were rat's,feckin dozens of them. After watching for a bit,it became obvious they were nesting in the bank of a drainage ditch, and were coming out and crossing ten or fifteen yards of open ground to get at the spud's,all this in broad daylight! Had no smoker or tool's so could only watch as the dog's went berserk.Needless to say,me and my lad will be leaving work early tomorrow, and going back with me gear.Really pleasing thing was watching my 6 month old beddiexwhippet getting stuck in,i was well chuffed.Hopefully get some action shot's up tomorrow.
