The dog you have seems to meet all your needs?,if i had a dog that did the same id be looking to breed to the same.As soon as you start adding more to the mix it throws the breeding all over.

Better still let someone else do the breeding and buy a pup in. Ask yourself if you really need the cost, work and hassle breeding a litter of pups entails. Also can you afford to put things right if things go wrong - ie, a C section ain't cheap!!!

And what about finding homes for them - press advertising isn't cheap and problem free and unless you are very lucky you will have to deal with a fair amount of idiots before you have them gone. With the best will in the world folk, friends and hunting mates may be 'up for a pup' but often when they're here and ready to go you can be let down...you only need to scan the pages of some internet for sale sites and re-homing sites to see many forlorn looking sad cases that have been badly let down by humans!!! Do you want to add to that?

However, if you have a good bitch and you'd like to run her progeny good luck and I hope all goes well for you. I've had running dogs for almost 35 years and have never bred a litter of pups (bred several litters of terriers but never big dogs) - always brought them in - was just my way of doing things!!! And it has worked well for me.

Having said all that though - I have a very nice, well bred and capable irish bred coursing greyhound bitch here and hopefully she'll breed me a nice pup this summer - a break from the norm but one I have thought long and hard about. Fingers xed al will be good!!!

Good luck with your bitch!!! Take care. Colin.

If you want the right dog then the miles have to be traveled at times, otherwise its 2nd or 3rd best choice, then its 2nd or 3rd rate pups,if the bitch fails to take, which is seldom, then the stud fee,if there was one, will be refunded.
