Wxm 1,638
why would you warn US that your going to launch a nuclear attack on them? not today not tomorrow not the day after that BUT! the day after that lol http://blog.heritage.org/2013/03/07/north-korea-threatens-nuclear-strike-on-u-s/
Born Hunter 17,763
They've not warned them that they are going to but that they would carry out a pre-emptive nuclear strike IF the US continue to threaten them with nuclear war. It's just typical bolshy bollocks. They can't be serious in the threat. To my knowledge they have developed a pretty basic nuclear device which MIGHT be compact enough to be carried by their new missile technology. The US are not threatened at all by this and IF the North Koreans decided to commit suicide the US have the arsenal and resources to wipe them clean off the map! There's nuclear weapons and then there's nuclear weapons......
Cliff Ray 185
With that warning aren't the rest of the world justified in a retaliatory attack in advance

RubyTex 1,957
f**k it, press the big red button and wipe North Korea off the map. Massive military and Kim Jung Young Sung Ji whatever spunks money on rubbish when the people are starving. Just wipe the slate clean....
JohnGalway 1,043
Their nuclear weapons are only of use locally, their ICBM missiles are unreliable, for that matter who knows if their nuclear devices are reliable? The real threat is the amount of other missiles and artillery targeted at the capital of South Korea, which is well within their range. I find their empty threats tiresome.

Don't they have something like 1,000,000 ground troops too? I'd be inclined to take anything they say with a pinch of salt, although the crazy dog munching b*****ds seem to inhabit a different reality from the rest of the world so I'd never say never.. JohnGalway 1,043
They have a lot of troops, but are they much use? Their vehicles and tanks etc would be fairly inferior to SK/US equipment.
Malt 379
I wouldn't have thought they'd be much use overall, but its still a hell of a large army to deal with if it came steaming across the 38th parallel!
paulus 26
at least china is not supporting them this time and is instead supporting the new sanctions imposed by the united nations security council
JohnGalway 1,043
It would be, but how quickly could they move really? I'm sure the US/SK already have some nasty plans in place for such an eventuality. Remember, last time out in the 50's the UN side drove the NK side all the way to the Chinese border. It was the intervention of actual Chinese troops that have us where we are now. I wouldn't count on the Chinese getting involved so much, their economy depends on Western money to buy from their factories. A conflict started by NK wouldn't be good for them, or any of the rest of us.
Born Hunter 17,763
I believe on numbers they have the largest military in the world! Fat lot of good that is without tech though. They're crazy to even put a 'nuclear strike' on the table, but perhaps with US forces being stretched thin they think they can throw their weight about a bit more, bit of bravado like. Also gonna drum up support with their new leader. They're reasonably safe from any nuclear strike themselves as well being so close to South Korea and China. Nuclear fallout would affect both. That said, if the North go through with their threats, all bets are off.
Malt 379
They're in a no win situation really, the only ones who they could seriously damage are the South Koreans, even then it'd be suicide.. I'd put money on there being at least one nuclear armed US sub in the region all the time with enough on board to wipe NK off the map several times over..
Born Hunter 17,763
It's the domain of the US 7th fleet. And it's pretty much their sole job to be on hand if anything does kick off with the North. So I should imagine your right Malt, a Nuclear armed sub and a hell of a lot more.......
