Just About Sums Up This Country

Something has to be done to get this man his medals back. Can we as a hunting community not have a whip round to raise the money to get this man, no sorry this HERO! his medals back?

Would anyone know how to go about it?

I don't earn much and don't get paid til the 25th but more than willing to donate some money if we can get medals back to this poor bloke. This country makes my blood boil!

Same here mate, I'm pretty much skint but I'll chip in what I can to at least try and raise some money for this guy. Could Help for Heroes help in anyway do you think?

Should start a Facebook page buy them back for him [BANNED TEXT] paper was it out of?

I don't know what paper it was mate, I haven't got Facebook as I don't like being spied on by the government but if we could all look into this story a bit further to find out exactly what has happened then setting up a Facebook page would be a good idea.

I havent got facebook but im willing to put something in for him if its not too late.imagine how he feels immigrants getting looked after housed kids payed for and they cant even help him out for his last few years.i know they cant pay for everyone but they could at least put their own people first.just think how much this nation has changed since he put his life on the line for this country.the people in charge should be ashamed its getting embarrassing now.its not uk now its just an island full of whoever wants to be here and we have to adapt around them and at times come second best.sorry to get political just things like this annoy me.the other one that got me going was the poor lad who hung himself cos he was bullied for being white.i dont know the answers to the problems but then again i dont get paid a fortune to run this country.dont look good for the future

You're not the only one who feels like that mate, the majority of us feel just as you do.

i know mate shame the government are not in this majority of people being as theyre the ones with the powers to stop this shit or they could at least be seen to be doing something instead of semmingly sticking up for these people and protecting them.ffs why would you let people live amongst you when you are basically at war with them.look how many terrorists were born or live here.i know everyone says it but im genuinely not racist but it is arelatively small island and in my eyes we are slowly being taken over.and as for giving big sums of money each year to poor countries i assume that money has been generated here so why not use it here on people who were born here and like this old hero were proud of the country enough to put their life on the line for it.i doubt he is still as proud of the uk as he used to be.sounds dramatic but theres a lot that think the same

If he is full of it then its a total f***ing discrace. I got a mate who's a squadie and is NOT IMPRESSED! As most people should be, our armed forces dont get enough recognition for me as they get the worst of it and are always s**t on. God bless them all, past and present!

The fact he has said nothing pretty much proves it for me! There is no real serving or former service military person being called a Walt that would not go short of ripping heads off to prove it! I got called a Walt about 12 months ago on a different site as the guy in question him self was a Walt and tried to make out I was as I kept picking him up for all the rubbish he said he had done, weapons used etc etc. Cutting a rather long story short I put both my service number, troop number that I passed out with and dates of different units I served with and asked him to do the same! The outcome was he called me all the names under the sun as I'd put him in a position which had caught him out and at the time he was blowing one of the mods and got me banned!! Lol

Trooperman there's a genuine ex 42Cdo guy who's been directed to this thread. He lives in Brampton so only a couple of clicks from you. He's willing to meet up with you and if you're gen he'll stick a donation in the H4H tin.

Bang to rights, sowing a pair of socks to the sleeves of your combat jacket does not make it a para smock ! Lol lol......what an absolute buffoon !

How sad  People fall through the net/system - and it is often the ones who just quietly accept their lot in life, or don't know how to deal with the system, that get the bad deal.

I visited an old guy a few months ago - nasty chest infection - and while I was there I could see he was really struggling. We talked about options, family, cares etc and his situation was just terrible. I noticed a book on spitfires on his table, and we got chatting about that - and turns out he was WW2 pilot. His wife had died, his son was estranged and he was too proud to ask for help, because he was embarrased at what he " had become".

I spent the next day on the phone to various military people - some helpful, some not, and eventually spoke to a really helpful squadron liaison office, and 2 weeks later, they visited him, and he was entitled to free help with sorting benefits, and his finances, and they even arranged for him to attend the Burns night dinner at the local mess - military transport provided - I saw him there and he was a different person. To be fair, he then bored me silly with war stories..... ( joking, he was a top bloke) and now he knows that help is only a phone call away.

Lara you have my total respect. It's ladies such as you who give me faith that the NHS is the greatest health service in the world. I just wish there were more like you
