Collie grey underrated and always mocked. Deerhound mid way and saluki and bull. Overrated hyped up shit talk

I agree collie greyhounds are underrated despite it being one of the best "allround" x that you can have. Especially when you compare it to someone bragging about their stupid staff x

Again, why?

Well in my opinion having a smart dog is far more valuable that having just speed or jaw strength as if a dog is intelligent it will be fare more successful on a larger range of quarry. Know don't get me wrong bull x's can be useful on the bigger species (Fox and Deer) but my argument is that a smarter dog will better for hunting and as a companion as it will be able to listen to your commands which is useful for retrieving and other things.

ive got a bull x lurcher , who will listen to commands , hand signals, whistle and retrieves live to hand but will kill a fox (legal here) he will hunt up on command ,ferret , work with terriers or spaniels, let me shoot over him and is good in the house and around the kids .... just because one or 2 maybe are owned by numpties who dont know how to train a dog dont mean there all bad

as you have said mate, most of my dogs have been the same and none where bull x's....its all down to the individual owner and dog...most of my dogs have had very similiar working ability and nature....and i like to think thats down to my influence :D

I'm not saying that all bull cross owners have "daft" dogs and i will admit that their are acception which are very good in the field it just bothers me that people by a bull lurcher without consideration for other x's and when they buy them they don't buy them the correct training which makes them a good lurcher. As you could have a dog from good breeds and parent however it still doesn't mean that they are going to work as well as some people expect them to work.

Crap people buy crap dogs and expect them to be champions - fact

any breed of lurcher or lurcher cross can be fantastic - on the right quarry and right ground, with correct training - fact

People assume they know what they are doing with no experience and no training, and a ferkin stupid attitude - epic fail !

Why does it bother you?

I couldnt give a wet one what other people choose to buy/feed

I don't care what people buy it their choice i just wish people would put a bit of consideration before they buy that is all.

The decent, proper dog people do.....

Yeah they do but more and more people are getting into the sport thing which don't get me wrong is a good thing its just the less experienced/knowledgeable are the one's that in my opinion are making they mistakes which is understandable and a would guess is the same it a whole range of different sports so its forgivable and at the end of the day its not making any difference to anyone but their lives so we should just leave it their.

at 59 and having running dogs all my life ive found all the crosses mentioned can be good bad and somewhere in between a lot depends who owns it and how much work they do or dont put in front of it, and what kind of work they have bought the said dog to do .. right dog for the right owner and your more than half way there the reverse and your fecked from the start .
