lamping-lad 160
There's no such thing, each dog is an individual not matter what cross and will either be shite, mediocre or good. thats true Quote Link to post
EnglishBulldog 14
In your opinion what is the most overrated x and underrated? whats your opinions? Beddy Whippets overrated however is still like them and Whip/Grey underrated and are often dismissed because people think if it doesn't have saluki in the cross it will be knackered after 10 meters and that is just not the case. Whippet/greyhounds I think are probably the most underrated type these days, but used to be pretty common, very good dogs. Wouldn't give you tuppence for a bull x or a saluki x I agree with you with the bull x's as they are primarily owned by chav's however i do have to disagree with you about saluki's they are fantastic dogs for coursing but just because you have saluki in your dog don't mean that it will catch a hare its all about the parents and the training that you put in which will show you if your dog is good or not. What is it about the whippet/greyhound mixture that you think is under rated?.......same for the beddy/ whippets? Quote Link to post

I don't hide what I do - I keep within the law, I certainly don't feel the need to photo and film every thing that happens, and put it on you-twit-face or whatever it's called. The thread on the terrier section shows how that can be a disaster ( I don't condone it, it was horrific, and not true hunting by any standard) My dogs do what they do, and fill the freezer. I don't feel the need to show pics of them doing so. Quote Link to post
EnglishBulldog 14
Collie grey underrated and always mocked. Deerhound mid way and saluki and bull. Overrated hyped up shit talk I agree collie greyhounds are underrated despite it being one of the best "allround" x that you can have. Especially when you compare it to someone bragging about their stupid staff x Quote Link to post

Well in my opinion having a smart dog is far more valuable that having just speed or jaw strength as if a dog is intelligent it will be fare more successful on a larger range of quarry. Know don't get me wrong bull x's can be useful on the bigger species (Fox and Deer) but my argument is that a smarter dog will better for hunting and as a companion as it will be able to listen to your commands which is useful for retrieving and other things. 1 Quote Link to post

WILF 46,605
But a staff is one of the most biddable and trainable terriers you will find, different in nature but as smart as most collie crosses I have ever seen......terriers are on the whole pretty intelligent dogs. You could have the Stephen Hawkin of dogs in your kennel but he won't catch much in his wheelchair What about the beddy/whippet and whippet greyhound, why do you rate one and not the other?
