martin 332
I took the pup around my new bit of permission, just a walk around to see what the boundaries were like and where to shoot from while lamping :sniper: etc. and,I was amazed at the amount of rabbits on the ground :yikes: .The pup(6months JRT)has not really showed too many signs of being switched on as yet, but, while we were walking a hedgeline a rabbit ran out of the hedge right in front of her, and, she took off after it,and, when it went back in the hedge she followed(a first)and ran it all along the hedge until it went down a hole.Well she was well and trully wired then, she worked like a veteran, every hedge, all of the clumps of thistles in the fields(she didn't miss one)and, she was putting them up right left and centre. It was inevitable that she would get up close to one sooner or later, and, she did just this to a rabbit that was feeding out in the field in a clump of thistles. She ran it towards the hedge, but, the rabbit turned on itself and went back out into the field, and 'Scrap' just managed to snap it up,and shook the life out of it.To say I was over the moon was an understatement,I had a grin a mile wide. Here she is marking the thistle..... And the chase begins........... Turns back towards the field................ OOPS!....................... And,there we are,the first one of many,I hope so............. Here are a few photo's of the resident rabbits................. Quote Link to post
