it means making a rifle better,smoother,more accurate,more consistent,more shots per fill (pcp's) or easier to cock (springers) it can involve polishing internal moving parts, different springs or fitting regulators. it can be a variety of prices depending on rifle type and how far you wish to take it! a v-mach kit (diy) is around £70 and for my prosport consisted of a spring, a guide,a top hat , lube and a new piston seal. various shops do tuning to various degrees at various prices! people will be along soon to say their favorites i am sure.

As above, its about making a gun smoother, more consistent and possibly more accurate. Whether or not its worth doing depends upon the gun. Ive an s410 in .22 and ive polished the trigger sears which seems to make the trigger a bit smoother. Ive overhauled it with totally new seals - which is more of a service / maintenance rather than tuning. Then I fitted a regulator to improve consistency of shot power. I fitted a moderator adapter & an hw100 moderator to replace the stock air arms one. Then swapped out the air arms fill adapter on the tank for a quick coupling adapter. All in all i dread to think how much i have spent and to be perfectly honest its made very little noticeable difference to the guns performance as the s410 is already a crackingly accurate & quiet rifle. But, i love tuning & tinkering, so it was more of a hobby for me.
