baw 4,360
Well said lapin. Is it just me or is there a lot of dumb fucks coming on the hunting life recently? It used to be the school holidays you got this but not now. I'll probably get called a bully again for saying this but honest to f**k. moonlighter 1,164
Can I be on the list... If people in the know say he would be a good stud then best get on the list, sooner rather than later. Quote Link to post
timmy k 591
I think you all out of order, having a lurcher that can pick up litter is an essential part of lurcher work, how much for these pups? Ill have two. 2 Quote Link to post
hounddog3 751
have you any idea of what the stud fee will be PM if u like i v,e a 9 mth,s old bitch might suit him. it,s the done thing now to stud them out before they proved they can do the job only on THL. Quote Link to post
DeerhoundLurcherMan 997
Imagine how much more potential lurcher pups would have, if they was only bred from proper dogs, that had proved there worth, and grafted to a high standard for years. Instead I see pups for sale, out of working pups photographed in sh**hole gardens......... 1 Quote Link to post
beast 1,884
i have had running dogs for many years, far longer than some of these people have been alive. i have had some crap, some average and luckily for me a couple of truly exceptional working dogs. ive been offered a LOT of money for pups or stud duties, but i have NEVER bred a litter. personally i worry too much about what might happen to the pups, i know it sound soft but my dogs are workers but also my mates, my personal morals are my own business i know, but i would hate to see a dog i had bred in a shelter, let alone dead by the road somewhere. or dragged round a show with a FOR SALE sign round its neck. i replace my stock with related animals bred by friends. these people breeding from untried stock are simply adding to the lurcher merry-go-round 4 Quote Link to post
forest of dean redneck 11,704
Just because a few people said they might be interested means nothing: talk is easy. Watch those potentially interested people melt away once you have a litter on the ground. read the above repeatedly, why would anyone want to breed a dog to chase a stuffed toy? plenty of dogs out there that could do it. what you going to do when your left with maybe 4 or 5 pups that no one wants. *The*Field*Marshall* 674
I don't think the man is a potential, intentional peddler as such or trying to wind anyone up for that matter. . More like a little green and naive, we've all been there at some point or other with something! Lets give the benefit of doubt and all. Wouldn't mind seeing a pic of the dog ? Similar breed to mine. ATB Wouldn't mind seeing a pic of the dog either, seen some very good ones bred this way over the years, but not many in the last 20-25 years. And that's mainly because the bullx's started to get popular with certain people who wanted immage makers, and thought this x would be 'SMASHING' stuff early! Mmm good point shaaark, I own a Deer/Grey x Whippet/Grey, I'm a little bit surprised there isn't more of them about. . Saying that, yet to own and run a saluki x . . But that'll change next season! Bull x's are not my thing, a bit is fine, but not too much. . 1 Quote Link to post
