TWOTWOTHREE 152
Hi Well renewal visit came round yet again, the first time I've met this guy and he was sound, the old one has retired since last time I renewed,he was very chatty and had a laugh, its a good job too lol,we got all the spiel out the way then he wanted to check my cabbinet and guns, bear in mind my cabinet is home made and I've had it before 2005 so it still is accepted as ok for my sgc and fac,I also installed a steel door to the gun room its a half door under the stairs type, so U open the door then your met by a prison looking removable frame, well it should be removable,I must have put it in back to front last night prior to the visit when I checked all was safe and secure, could I open it could a feck,it was solid and I mean solid lol,he waited patiently while I tried to get in,I just wanted the ground to open up and take me down!!! He did laugh and say well if you can't get to your guns neither can the burglars, then as I rasted at it it opened full speed and smashed my mrs mirror on the wall, glass all over,I tell ya if I fell in a bucket of tits I would cone out sucking mi thumb,im the most unlucky person alive, its been a right month, dog died, youngster in hospital with a Neurovirus fox killed all my birds and now locked myself out my gun room, but hey U have to laugh,on the positive I've another 5 years to buy a new cabbinet and sod that cage off, Atb 5 Quote Link to post

cyclonebri1 8
I';d like to take this further chaps if you all don't mind?? So, how to make a gun room? Details please re side and back/floor/top access and the nessessary door detail Quote Link to post
TWOTWOTHREE 152
Bad idea lol!!! it depends how far your willing to go,for example mine is under the stairway so from the top access is near impossible unless you remove the treads etc etc, from the living room it looks like a normal door but as you open that door you are met with a cage type door, there is a box section embedded in the floor and one in the aperture or the frame fixed with rawl bolts n coach bolts, the door resembles a prison door which locates into the holes in the floor plate and locates into the top on pegs which are then locked with closed shackle locks,no fixing points visible and it would be a messy job to remove,I designed mine at work from stainless steel and it looks the part, obviously my guns are then in the cabinet and ammo safe beside that, its not compulsory as U know but a piece of mind, apart from my little issue yesterday its simple to fit and remove, the feo was impressed by it when he stopped laughing inside about the mirror,my new phone won't post links to some pics but I can email them until I work the blower out to post pics,no safe or gun room is ever 100% theft proof but you would need a hour or two to get mine open without making a noise,, Atb Quote Link to post
