I remember once hearing that the Irish hares were'nt very fast, well if that was'nt fast I dont know what is,in 20 seasons of coursing in england I only ever saw 1 hare go to ground, just wondering does this ever happen in ireland, also is the Irish hare the same as the blue mountain hare

They must have been getting some stick on that land, also if any farm machinery like a plough has been left out in the corner of a field,a hare will use this to it's advantage to throw the dog off, sometimes fatal for the dog particularly on the lamp,I remember one time watching a course on a fen video a hare ran straight towards a telegraph post long before the dog put any pressure on so they definitely know what they're doing,i've also seen a hare sit and wait for the dogs to get near then hop through the hedge on some small local land, that hare done that twice, but not thrice I wonder why :hmm:
