Every lurcher cross will have good and bad in that perticular cross....I like all lurchers...its the owners that tend to piss me off

I done a search but always ends up with diffrent breads in the thread etc. could we have this thread for just us lads who keep real dogs. To show pictures Cheers

Im a massive fan of the Collie bred lurcher,as long as it does,nt come from the Midlands, but to say they are the only "real dog",possibly will get the response you set out for,Muppet.

Out of interest why do you say to avoid getting one from the midlands? Cheers

With regards to pulling up at hedges, my border collie crosses were more prone to this, the one I had with a splash of beardie mixed in with the border would fly right into the hedge and rarely get injured. Can't understand why we don't see more beardie mixed in with border collie lurchers........anybody know why?

hancock still uses beardie/border half crosses  Mr smith is one i can think of, this is a half cross bitch from that cross, she is from ive been told a handy bitch, i have collie in my dogs breeding indeed i put one of my dogs over this bitch last year, collie adds something to the mix that other breeds dont.

Well ive never had any that pick there runs, infact my dog now Bryn 1x collie x grey runs flat out from 1st rabbit to last rabbit, and so fecks him self up lol .he will do this with 40 odd runs in the lamp, to me thats not a dog who picks runs.ok a when he tired he wont run no more thats it,but norm you 30 odd rabbits with him, thats enough for me. By other collie x grey Blaze that i had 3/8 collie 5/8 grey, wasnt as good as Bryn on rabbits, but liked the old teeth job. I think he liked to kill foxes more than rabbits lol,so bottom line is there all differnt temps.Got a 1x gsd x grey pup Buck this x are supposed to be like colliexs but with more fire in there belly, time will tell .

Very true about temperament, my two pure collies never ever picked there runs. From my experience some border collies certainly have a more committed style to hunting having a much higher drive to find a scent.
