My New Dog...

Recommended Posts

3/4 grey 1/4 beddy.

Just settling him in now but he seems a lovely natured dog. Very well mannered, my bitch has told him off a few times when he gets a bit bouncy and puppy-ish and he hasn't retaliated, he's quiet in the kennel and loves a fuss. So far so good.

Looks the part..   Good luck with him..   Be a nightmare when that bitch of yours breaks down, he will howl the place down

The guy saw a post of mine about beddy/greyhounds and contacted me saying he had picked one up "accidentally" a few months previous. He went to pick up a deer/collie/grey and this dog was kenneled wit

The photos don't really do him justice. He is a fine example of a lurcher. Time will tell how well he works.

From what I can gather all the basics are there, he just needs some time putting into him and he needs to see some game.

He is fast, just been over the fields mooching about and he can shift. He walks to heel and doesn't stray too far when mooching. He jumps like a kangaroo aswell.

I plan to spend the summer mooching and bonding with him and will have a couple of nights on the lamp just to give him a few easy ones.

He's about 2 but acts very puppyish around my bitch and my little girl.

Cheers for comments.

Why another adult dog? Why did the guy get rid?

He looks a nice dog but I'd always be weary of taking somebodies cast offs. Good luck with him.

The guy saw a post of mine about beddy/greyhounds and contacted me saying he had picked one up "accidentally" a few months previous. He went to pick up a deer/collie/grey and this dog was kenneled with it and the bloke said he wanted them both gone.

Neither dog had done anything from what I can gather. Just been kept kenneled.

The bloke i had him off had already got 3 dogs. These 2 making 5 and the beddy x just wasn't getting enough work because he favoured the deer/collie/grey.

He has been asked to sell him countless times but wanted someone he new would do good by the dog, put some time into him and not pass him on.

Hes on a "life long trial" so to speak and the bloke wants him back if I decide things aren't working out.

He didnt ask for any money either but I gave him £70 for a few bags of food or whatever.

Why another adult dog? It just popped up I guess.

I wasn't looking for one. I was after a pup but this seemed too good to turn down and without 6 months of puppy hassle

Also my bitch is laid up now with injuries and might not run the same again so to have her and a pup still leaves me nothing to mooch about with over the coming months.

Cheers
