robwelsh 354
Benji same happend when I had my huntsman, concentrated more on not banging it than hunting with it...now I have a rapid I'm not scared to bump lol Quote Link to post
mad_pom 0
just when I thought I'd came to decision! I'm liking the rapid as well now..... so, BSA utlra or R10 or AA410 or ultra.. Is there a good gunshop in Worcestershire/Gloucestershire anyone could recommend who would have all these and had a range to try them even ? thanks Quote Link to post
villaman 9,983
If you are in that area you could all ways try the GRAHAM BROTHERS  Quote Link to post
benji benji 60
ditch the ultra all others listed are far better Quote Link to post
mad_pom 0
I think after lots of reading, im settled on the R10 mk2 in .177 Quote Link to post
robwelsh 354
Benji, I know loads of lads who had r10s with countless problems. Problem after problem too... I have an ultra se, an can't fault it as of yet...have u experienceed all three guns? I have shot loads, and each have been accurate, r10 being the least reliable .. between the 400 an ultra its hard to pull mine an the one I shot apart ..I feel the Bsa felt chunkier, abit more robust, but both got good build quality .. 1 Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
ditch the ultra all others listed are far better Far better in what way mate? The Ultra is light so can be carried with ease, now as bolt cocking if you get a SE, nice wood work with the Italian stocks, good deep blueing and as a improved shot count (SE). Accuracy wise I say this and 100% mean it. If matched with the correct pellet and filled to 200 bar it will match a pcp 2.5 to 3 times its price. I would dare risk shooting my mrs Ultra SE against just about any other normal hunting pcp including r10's, HW100's and AA knowing that it would do itself proud even at silly ranges and not get the pi-s taken out of it. What more can you ask for a rifle costing £450 odd pounds in MS? I know if I had to only have 1 pcp and sell my other 2 I would keep the Ultra and sell the XVI and HW100KT for sure. robwelsh 354
Btw si, I tried aa field in it, 4.52. It loves them...think the two main pellets now for it il stick to either jsb or aa field. 1 Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
The BSA R10 is noted mainly for one thing, problems! They had lots of them! Later ones appear to have most of the glitches sorted! Mind you the BSA Super 10s are good too (just to add another one into the mix)... Quote Link to post

robwelsh 354
I didn mean it funny, just asked if u had, as I found out different that's all. Most of the r10s I'm talking about were the mk2 ..not sure about the vc , they suppose to have a diff reg etc I think.. Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
I didn't mean it funny either Benji. The Ultra is no toy though and does what it was designed for very well. Si. Quote Link to post
