Qbgrey 4,170
no ones lending at the minute, unless you accounts prove very good, and they do ask for accounts now,so most self employed people are screwed..............but you could try the buy to let mortgage, the rent you get plus your income should be ok,of course you will live in it,just need to get around how to do it,but my mates an advisor he told me this, but it was a while back........ They wanted my last 2 years accounts. Never heard of the thing you mention, will keep it in mind though........ did you mention the 10k cash you earn might of swung it for you lol,i forgot that bit
Strong Stuff 2,171
Easy answer,Don't get one.Forget the sentimentality nonsense, you're young ish (I think?) healthy, just be happy.Avoid stress where possible, life's too short to be having sleepless nights over how much money you haven't got or owe.Live where you can afford to comfortably, and enjoy the short time we are here.Well, you did ask! lapin2008 1,587
As said before mate, go independent The banks have all been spanked pretty hard in the past few years so are more cautious than they once were but they are still lending (some up to 5 times salary still subject to deposit) I am surprised at RBS response to be honest as most the banks are getting more confident and starting to lend more again its just they tend to want bigger deposits. An independent adviser will know all the options/ways rounds stuff and be should be able to sort something out for you even if this means as part of an agreement with a guarantor. You also often dont need to pay as they are paid by whoever they set you up with a deal with. good luck

Well, you did ask! The only problem is, Lab is a sentimental git. And who can blame him? It was his grandad's home and obviously he loves it there, plus he runs the game farm from the site. It would be a bigger ball ache to move elsewhere... Good luck anyway Lab you ginger prick

I see where SS is coming from and under different circumstances I would do exactly that. There are other factors involved which means my heart lies up there and obviously the business. I wouldn't go under just for sentiment though...but I'll give it everything ive got to stay there.

I hadn't realised that you ran the business from there too. A lot of people do seem to get hung up on sentimental nonsense though. You know what, the idea that we all put a few quid in isn't such a bad one!!
dytkos 17,838
About 6 months ago me and the ex parted company. Now we have decided to get her name of the mortgage and filled in all the appropriate paperwork. Received a letter today saying that they wont grant me a mortgage on my wages alone. Heard about guarentor or maybe putting my Dad on the mortgage but dont know what is best. f***ing fed up anyway so any info would be great. Cheers..... I can't beleive that! You've had a girlfriend! Hope all turns out well and you get a positve solution. Cheers, D.
