04fox8 168
Not in the same position as you, but we got told to approach an independant financial advisor. First thing he told us at the time was to go to the bank we had our deal with and bite their hand off!! Now, you spoke of land being involved, This is a sticky wicket via a mortgage.... But, Could you approach the Buisness side of your lender, who may be able to help you out via their channels? We looked at buying a few acres about a year ago. Bank let us down BIG style, but eventually spoke to their business guy, who was annoyed, then gave me his personal No. should anything similar come up again........May be worth a try? Good Luck whatever happens.

albert64 1,882
go independent mate, they'll check every avenue to get you your mortgage thats how they make their money or speak to your ex and get her to keep her name on and get papers drawn up for her to sign that she stopped contributing towards the mortgage and has no financial interest after this date obviously she will at some stage have to be took off but it will give you time to get things sorted, the banks are shite mate half the time they wont let you use your own money
The one 8,524
Go into the rbs and ask to speak to there finical adviser it should be free and you might have to wait a bit if you don't make a appointment . Only thing is they tend to sell there products more heavily than others

walshie 2,804
If it was me, I'd get a trusted family member named on the mortgage instead of a Doris.
Malt 379
Hope you get sorted Lab.. Don't know if its right, but I was once told to steer clear of the banks and use a building society if I ever wanted a mortgage. Apparently they have different rules and a bank is much more likely to want to seek possession of the shit hits the fan..

Nothing would suit me better moving from the RBS mate....i hate being taken for a mug. They've no interest in helping me, only themselves. I have a number to phone on Monday so should no more by then......If i cant get it sorted to be a the sole owner then my next move will be my Dad......

You could pay it back c/w a reasonable 'interest' attached in a few years time. We could then all own a wee bit o Fife briefly.
