milegajo 595
I must say I was impressed by sundonmodelshop when I bought Mawders a tin of superfields. The tin was wrapped in that foamy sheet stuff, inside a good, useful little cardboard box in a bubble jiffy bag via RECORDED post. Quote Link to post

Had a look at uttings for the fist time and they do seem good Quote Link to post

darkdd81 36
I too would have to say Uttings. There delivery serivce is superb and prices are great. My local shop is Allsports of Gloucester, and you will never meet such a rude, miserable and patronising old bloke than the one that runs that place. Went in with a friend of mine last November. We're both dressed smartley (my friend is a company director who i work for) and ask to see the air rifles and scopes that are kept in a small gated area. The guy then continues to follow us around in the area like we are a pair of naughty school kids in a sweet shop. My friend went to pick up a prosport and then was told he had to ask the shop guy to pick it up for us, then pass it to us under his supervision. With that, we both politeley told the guy he better put the prosport back in the rack as he won't be getting this sale today. We then took a short drive up to Coley's Shooting School in Birdlip where we were treated like adults (i'm 31, my friend 30), and my friend got his pro sport, and i got my Hw100, scope, bi pod, gun slip etc.... A little off thread. Sorry. ATB 1 Quote Link to post

A little off thread. Sorry. ATB Amen to that brother! Allsports is my local shop to but I would rather burn 30 quids worth of fuel and visit sandwell field sports for my hobby and sport! Says alot about the attitude of the staff at allsports if I'm willing to burn 30 quid over about 1 quids worth of fuel! I wouldn't care less if that shop vanished in a massive black hole!!! They make business selling over priced rubbish to foolish or new people to the sport who don't know any better! It still makes me chuckle that the bloke dared argue with me about pellets stating that a wasp pellet is just as good as AA fields lol. I re educated him and nearly got kicked out the shop ha ha. He still thought he was right though ha ha! Mawders 2 Quote Link to post
gasman1 15
ive used blackpool, uttings, range sports. i try and buy bits and bobs from my local gun shops. one of them is really struggling at the mo, which is a real shame. they really look after their customers. if you buy a pcp off of them, they fill it up free of charge for life as long as you own the gun. people just dont seem to have any spare cash to keep them going. it'd be a shame if it were to close. M47KS_M4N_CH71S 50
uttings are cheapest also redbeck are cheap to atb chris Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
mawders and darkdd -- i love reading stories like this they gave me a right funny look last time i went into the gunshop to buy some pellets and asked if they had 4 tins of jsb exact 4.52 , he goes, "there all the same mate" .. but there was a mix of 4.51,4.52+4.53 tins in his pile behind the counter . .. i didnt want to get into a full blown convo trying to convince him that the .01 of a mm makes a difference........... anyway he looked at me like i was stupid when i was looking at the stickers on the bottom of the tins.... 1 Quote Link to post
Mawders 595
And there in lies the problem with some gun shops, they are stuck in their ways, don't shoot and don't keep ontop of current airgun affairs! They are usually old and set in their ways and will argue the toss with customers which is NOT good for business! They deserve to close if they act in this manner, I don't care! The Internet allows you to have what pellets and stuff YOU want without having to have a discussion or argument about it! I thought Allsports was a one off as the most unpleasant experience anyone could wish to have but it would appear there are more shops out there willing to give the same experience! I'll go to sandwell field sports every time for my stuff and would give them my last pound if it meant they wouldn't close! That's how much I personally rate them! When you find a good shop stick with them that's all I can say. Mawders Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
theres only 2 proper gunshops close enough for me to bother with, kirklees guns in huddersfield and aaron wheelers in brighouse, i prefer kirklees so its them who gets my monies Quote Link to post
Craig Fosse 286
this is why so many people turn to the internet, the business is better and the trade is worth while. My local gunshop doesn't stock .177 stuff because apparently its not a good enough calibre for hunting ...maybe I should have walked in with my two rabbits I dispatched yesterday with blood dripping from the ear and plonk them on their nice shiny swarovski scope cabinet and say "sorry guys I thought you could do something with these afterall .177 shouldn't have been able to do this, sorry about the blood from the ear the bullet somehow had the penetration capability to imbed itself into the brain...but obviously you should know this".
