For All The Butchers/slaughter Men On Here

Recommended Posts

As I mentioned on the latest goat post, theres 2 sheep wandering about for a few months and no ones laying claim to them. The farmer is encouraging me to shoot them, they are on his land but i still think I could possibly get into hot water from doing so.If I did take them down, heres my questions,

1: if I head shoot them and then bleed them out would the meat be ok for eating.?

2: would you think they might be carrying anything that could cause harm to the consumer of said meat?

3: since I dont have a cold room or fridge big enough to hang them in,would the meat be ok to hang for a day or so(depending on the weather of course) and then whack it in the freezer for a time.?

4: I can butcher them myself, but not as good as a professional of course,is there anything I should look at,ie> lungs, liver etc and would any deformaties be evident to the eye?

any thing else Im not aware of and you could point out to me would be great.I might never shoot the 2 but Id like to consume it rather than waste them on dogs.

Could be owt under them fleeces jigsaw so dont get your hopes up, they could be thin as a rake, have every parasite known to man and if the fleeces are as bad as you say it wont be long before flys are about and then they'll likely get maggots

they could have abcesses or considering that wounds wont have been treated maybe even gangrene. Domestic sheep are very delicate.

paid theyre about almost 4 months now as far as I know,no ear tags j3,thats the first thing I looked for.Stig I have plenty of room in the freezer mate, just want to be sure i wont die of the plague from eating them, saying that the goats are in a dire condition at times and ive survived that.

I'd shoot em if there ferel for a few months an have no tags there yours and about eating them parasites most are killed by freezing an I think the longest withdrawal period on drugs to meat is 96 days

PUT THEM INTO REHAB
