Pcp £400-£500 For Hunting?

Recommended Posts

Recently ive seen air arms s410`s go for £400->£450. That incl. the gun, scope, moderator and even pellets. Thats a lot of gun for the money & will hold its value well. You can get a local shop to fill it up for £4, which will last you 70 or more shots. You can buy a pump for about £60 2nd hand and then you have a complete kit.

Or, if you wanted a bottle, i recently bought a brand new 7ltre 300psi bottle incl whip & gauges for £190.

The s410 would be my bet on ur budget as you have extra money for the tank, are you planning on huntng etc etc, just remember if you are extras people don't realise about like moderator, bipod if u like, camo gear etc etc all costs and you may need to out it into your budget. The s410 I have used personally a while ago when my springer was getting tuned, amazing air rifle for the price, you certainly won't be unhappy with it.

already got all camos etc mate currently own a weihrauch hw77 and shoot reguarly with that however i fancy giving the pcp's a go as i hear so much talk about them! i would look into purchasing a bipod aswell for the rifle. would you advise either .22 or.177 in the aas410?

also whats the case with the newer models being anti tamper? and the older models you can regulate the power of your shots?

sorry about my inexperience with these guns

your help is much appreciated thanks

I think its all down to the new gun laws which stops people adjusting the rifle to higher than the legal limit. The rifle is factory set and i think the anti-tamper models have a cap over where the pre-anti-tamper screws used to be.

Yer my s200 is anti tamper now, to be honest mate people who up the power of their rifles do it because they are FAC rated. You won't need to up the power on the s410 believe me, plus accuracy and shot placement is the key....as for .22 and .177, that's a choice for u to make, I have shot both and prefer .177 it's easier to manage and I just prefer it. So I would say .177, plus the s410 in this is superbly accurate, however it is just so in .22, sorry for telling u about camo and that, u never quite know what type of person ur talking to if they are just starting out etc etc, and as for .177 and hunting, I shot a woody today with aa field (very accurate in s410 as well) with my s200 and the pellet went under its wing through the lungs and heart and out the other side.....like I said its about shot placement .

Bipods...if u have the money Harris, if not cheaper brands are just as good. One thing with the s410 tho is there is no safety, u can de cock it but if u cock it and walk around with it ur rifle will be "live" so to speak, same with my s200, but as with anything it's about knowing ur weapon.
