However, it is very good for making trammel nets. If the net is 100 m deep multiply 100 by 3.5" =350" a long net should be around 60" in depth when the meshes are closed up.18 meshes deep would give you a net of 63 inches in depth. So that would mean you could make 5 long nets out of one sheet of 100 meshes deep. TC Quote Link to post

But i own the net now so will give it a go what is a trummel net just the net you cover a hole with A trammel net is a net with three walls it has two outer walls of large mesh and an inner wall of small mesh. This is what a fishing trammel looks like. Notice that because of the dimond mesh half of the net where it joins the main line is virtually unusable as the pocket is too small. These are the trammels that we use for rabbits and instead of haveing dimond outer meshes we use square outer meshes. Each square of the outers are 12" 30cm Square. The inner meshes are aroun 60" in depth and are tied in @ 10 meshes per square. This then creates a net that has a hell of a lot of slack that become pockets when a rabbit hits the net. One of the good things about trammels is that they are not affected by the wind as much as a normal net would be so a rabbit can hit a net from either side and still be caught.
