linde 17
Still only a pup mate, just take her out lots and let her learn in her own time. 5 hours is a long time out for 6 month old pup, again dont expect to much she is only a pup. ATB Andy 2 Quote Link to post

Mick C. 229
To much graft will tire and take the keeness out of a young pup Be patient , its just a matter of time. I ran an inexperienced rusell with the lurchers and she began to develop there style of hunting so i cut it out while she was learning her job. Someone once said if a dog marks a hole bolt the rabbit for the dog. Sounds like a good way to create a dog thats keen to mark up. Good luck Edited February 28, 2013 by Mick C. 1 Quote Link to post
digger71 7
Bring her out on her own and keep her leashed, if you see a rabbit out, let her hunt it to the burrow. As soon as she shows interest in the hole, in with the ferret but dont net up, let the rabbit bolt this will create great excitement for her. Repeat this several times and she soon relate { hole---excitement]. Dont make the mistake of bushing young terriers if you want them to be top class markers. Quote Link to post

In the summer months I would avoid putting the dog in a position where it is going to mark unless you want to carry a ferret around and battle the cover. Last thing you want is to take the dog away from the hole at least until its experienced Quote Link to post
