woz 260
Mate there shite....you'll wake up every morning frooze if your lucky...if your unlucky the carbon monoxide will get you and you'll drift away in a mellow haze to heaven....some of the chinky wood burners are quite good these days and quite cheap...any stove you buy needs fire rope around the door and ash pan..this will have a chance of staying in,at night.....you will need a few sheets of asbesto lux..fire proof board...you make the fire place..line it the said board the skin it again with an inch air gap all around..to get to current regs you'll need a double skin flu...then some way of sealing the chimney to the roof...caravans flex when being moved...you'll need to be able to remove the top part of the chimney off the roof or you'll rip it off an feck the roof if you hit a branch...if you have the chimney leval with the roof when running the fire you'll die because the smoke will come through the sky light vents...the gas heater will be balanced flu....your wood burner won't so you'll need to calculate the ventilation...how many people in the trailer..appliences etc....is easy enough to retro fit a burner into a van but its easy to kill yaself too...monoxide poisoning is irreversible and does great damage without you realising......... Carraghs Gem 1,675
already know about all that stuff my house is heated solely by a solid fuel stanley range so i could in theory die anytime from carbon monoxide poisoning anytime, caravans are always freezing in the morning so thats not really news and dont worry about us installing it, its not that complicated. the_stig 6,614
you seem stuck on the wood burner --- but for clenliness ,ease and warmth even on the coldest of nights and frozen winter mornings having tried both i`ll stick with my blown gas heating
Carraghs Gem 1,675
Its easier than gas or oil for me and if it doesnt suit a caravan then i'll install it into the living room fireplace and then look into the oil burning yoke
