WILF 46,588
Sometimes you have to take no notice of what anyone says and trust your own sense, I had a terrier bred by a lad off here......everyone who ever saw the dog hated it or slagged it or both !!! But I will say this, he was as honest a dog as you could find.....he could find in the biggest places, if he said no then you could guarantee nothing was home, he self entered at just over 12 months old and could never be allowed to run loose from that day after...... I saw the dog run lines for a few hundred meters and find, saw the dog get on a line, swim a stream and find which was a 3 hour do in an S shape tube, he would tare a box to bits if left in it You simply dropped the dog on the floor in any given place with no obvious earth and he would find something if it was there to find......he did this time and time again He had bottle in droves but no brains which more than once was his undoing.......a spewer, a jacker, unreliable.....all comments levelled at the dog from lads I respect BUT I knew better..........the dog was honest but with no brains, simple as that.......sometimes he simply had nothing left to give The dog died after doing what he loved to do..........rip little fella, if all dogs could have your heart they would indeed be dogs to envy Sometimes, you have to listen to yourself and sod everyone else Edited February 27, 2013 by WILF 7 Link to post
FUJI 17,156
Good post that Paulus..common sense or it should be? No worries Jimbob matey..I've had many a sleepless night over my own mutts performance..even just recently,my dog ran shite and it had me baffled? It was only on a few bunnies,he caught 16 from 18 runs and all was looking good, then he just looked bloody awful, couldn't hardly bend a rabbit? Thankfully lol the lamp f****d up when he caught 25 I got home and never went to bed for thinking what was amiss as I knew the dog was in decent order..that day he started being sick yellow bile and never eat for two days, some of my other dogs got the same so I put it down to him being Ill....took him out the following week with Tomo and between our two mutts we caught over a hundred so back to being able to sleep lol...like yourself I won't lose any kip worrying about other peoples mutts but my own...that's a different story haha 3 Link to post

If you put hours upon hours of time, effort etc into your dog and it then under performs whats wrong with being concerned over why the dog ran below par? Surely it's in the dogs welfare to worry?..but as the saying goes there's men with dogs and then there's dogmen :-) Link to post
