The one in my avatar,, in fact you would have loved that bitch baw,,, real fast with a great mouth,, also no saluki,,, whipp/ grey x deer/ grey

Now your talking, had that cross myself mate, the dog was a little small for my liking 24tts, I like mine in the 27tts range. What height was she mate?

25 inch baw,,, no frank never bred her,,,she's the only dog I've bought as an adult,,, 2 year old,,,a guy was selling her at Melton Mowbray cattle market,, I paid 60 quid.

I only had her 2 years befor I lost her one day out coursing,,, ran a hare and never saw her again,,, she was chipped , and I did all the usual,,,police,, dog warden, RSPCA ect,,ect,,posters evry where ,,,, but that was the last I saw of her.

Had I bred her,, then maxhardcores dog buster,,, also in the avatar would have proberbly gone over her

Shame that Tomo, sorry to hear that. That was some luck the way you bought her for so cheap and she turned out to be a good one. Does not happen too often..

I'm not trying to crab but see all you saluki guys, wouldn't you prefer to see a speed bomb like tomos on a hare than a grueling 5 min chase? I'd pay handsomely for that type of DVD.

only trouble is you have a dog thar kills them fast there shit hares you cant win.

That's true mate, each to there own I suppose. I know its personal taste but I just don't get them long drawn out courses.

they reckon Punch the 1x pitx grey was great dog, tackle anything on 4 legs, and run all night long, would love to see him do his stuff today

But would he make the same dog today.Punch was owned by a good dog man who was also young and keen to make a point. His owner put the time in making sure the dog was always fit and on top of his game and travelled the length and breadth of the country putting the work in front of him.Would he have made such a great dog in different hands or in these present times wher its getting harder to work a dog like we could 20yrs ago.

I would clone my old bitch Starlight: and just for Baw: she was fast and also had stamina to run on the fens. Someone said that she wouldn't stay as she was too up and at 'em to stay long, but she could stay a good 3 minutes, and more if the ground wasn't too soft, and she did catch most of the hares she ran, and was very seldom run out by a hare: she caught most well within 3 minutes. She was equally good on the lamp and teeth, and as a hunter, well, to get as biddable a scenting dog with the amount of drive she had was remarkable. She was also, and still is, super intelligent, putting herself in the right place as often as not. She is 12 now, and showing her age, but she still perks up at the scent of a fox. She was a one off in the litter, and I know I'll never have a dog quite like her ever again.

I never had a camera until she was older, so don't have any of her working or in her prime: more's the shame. The only dog I've had that could operate independently of me, but never needed commands, just did the right thing and acted like she was my partner out hunting, not just a dog.
