i have an early mk1 and its never let me down. accurate as you like... and you can pick them up for a lot less than the mk2. end of the day theobens are an all rounder be it a mk1 or mk2. i would never sell my mk1.

Spot on Ritchie, I had one of the very first MK1's, kept it right up until about eighteen months ago, then fancied a change. Now you are talking a long time with the same gun that had a lot of pellets through it and in all that time it never missed a beat. Total reliability, shot after shot the same, no sign of wear/damage anywhere on it, in fact the Buddy bottle still had the same "O" ring thanks to using the right grease. The wood in the stock was fantastic, oiled it occasionally and that was it. Had the mags refurbished once and bought a 10 (I think it was.........old age!!!) conversion for fifty quid that enabled twenty something shots, meaning I carried less with me.

Can't comment on the MK2, but you won't go wrong with a MK1.

thats the same as i do with mine, as the stock has seen a lot of use the seal on the wood that it came with had faded so i just go over it with a cloth dabbed in sainsbury`s finest mazola olive oil... ive used the mk2 and to be honest cant really see much difference as they both seem to hit bang on... heres a link to a write up to each rifle... but the link for the mk1 is the later model. but if you go on the http://www.airgunbbs.com/forums/ website " a site that mad al is familier with " :whistling: youll be able to pick a mk1 up cheap... good luck COMPUTER HUNTER !.
