dogvixen01 34
as you say in your post you are new to airgunning.first thing to say before you go is have you practised your shooting at paper targets before attempting to shoot live quarry in order to be able to dispatch any intended quarry safely and humanely.assuming you have make sure to recheck your zero when you get to your permission before you start hunting.other things to consider before you even go shooting is take a mobile phone which is fully charged and 1 have you got insurance to cover you in case of an accident .if not i wouldnt even think of going until you sort it out.( cost about £20-25/annually ) 2.if you have written permission take it with you ( or a photocopy in case you are worried about losing original ) handy if neighbour or someone else starts asking questions. 3 .pellets, allen keys to make any possible adjustments to scope, 4 if you have a pcp make sure it is full before you go or take a charging device with you. 5 if static hunting warm clothes. gloves ,waterproofs depending on weather.range finder, hat ,sunglasses if it is sunny .if stalking wear clothes which do not make a noise and are preferably camouflaged . 6 ,knife ,face veil ,some food and drink if you are going to be out all day.comfortable warm waterproof boots, mobile phone, emergency first aid kit, game bag. 7 if you are shooting at night remember to re charge any batteries you may require ,lamp ,spare bulbs . black tape ,electrical connectors ,screwdriver etc spare batteries and a headlight to find your way around. just make sure to shoot safely and i hope you enjoy the experience and have some success.let us know how you get on.atb Quote Link to post
barrywhite 282
water proof clothes .water proof trousers so you can sit any where you like my personal opinion but i wont touch waterproof clothes, its like trying to stalk wearing a crisp packet. id rather get wet The crisp bag effect is a problem but it can be over come with slow slow walking and movement .I have some water proof clothes with a massive hood that covers my face .If it rains when iam out I sit down and wait for the rain to stop with hood up ,i can fall asleep .never get wet ,sometime out shooting dawn to dusk 12 hours more or less .would not want to be wet for that long .rabbits dont seem to come out in rain much ,but between heavy showers they do so moving around in the crisp packet in the shower ,then wait for the shower to stop is an ok tactic .but yes noise is a problem ,I think my suit may have softened over time and some suits are better than others .
