neil r 1,861
Dont know if you know or you are already a member but the pike anglers club have got the rights to most of it now, 30-35 miles i think and its pac members only for piking , plus you have to get a seperate ticket off them to fish there. Non members can get tickets but not for pike/lure fishing . Dont know if it includes glasson or not though . Edited February 25, 2013 by neil r Quote Link to post
air gun ant 1,666
im in carnforth and i know that carnforth anglers have bought rights there and bolton-le-sands have rights up to hest bank but not heard anything about PAC? theres no signage? Also i pay over £600 per year for my boat and they cant stop me fishing from that wherever i am! plus glassons prob one of the only places worth fishing for decent pike so i would be suprised if they hadnt got that stitched up?? neil r 1,861
Its from just north of lancaster down to preston , theres a thread about it here http://pikeangler."£$%^&*("£$%^&/t2982-lancaster-canal Dont know how they are going to enforce it though , its a long stretch to cover but if it stops the poles emptying it like the canal near me then it might not be a bad thing Quote Link to post
air gun ant 1,666
Yeah I suppose when you put it like that, I was just having a little rant to myself about clubs buying stretches of canal blah blah lol the thing that bothers me is none the money they rake goes back in to the upkeep or stocking of the canal it's just a chance to make a Quik buck and that money will go into the club waters and not the canal. I have fished for both B-l-s and carnforth and will just be taking my chance rather than pay them to fish MY CANAL lol Atb ant 1 Quote Link to post
neil r 1,861
Must admit ive fished it a few times myself and never been asked for a licence , only had jacks on the canal itself but had fish to 20 on the dock . The only thing that bothers me about the lanky is the amount of boat traffic , its not so bad lure fishing but trying to keep a bait in the water can be hard work at times Quote Link to post
air gun ant 1,666
yeah them bloody boaters are a pain in the arse!!!!! lol you may see me come past mate, ill slow right down have a beer in my hand and a rod pod on the roof ive been on the lancaster canal all my life and i can honestly say i have never been asked for my rod licence, i always have one but have never been asked. i have been asked for a permit to fish a stretch that the fella said had recently been aquired by kendal anglers and wanted me to give him a £5 but i asked if he could prove who he was and who he was working for he fecked off and left me. seen him a few times since he comes for a chat and sits down for half hour then buggers of and have never asked me for money again. lol and im not a big lad so dont think he was scared of me, but did give him a few tips on getting to grips with the grass carp Quote Link to post
