day worker 296
a month or so back i took on a new dog denzel. he has a couple of problems that need ironing out ie hunting up and his retreiving which i am slowly sorting out! but the one thing that is really fecking me off is him slipping out of his collar while the other dog is running. the other dogs retreiving is second to none and i dont want this to change.if i tighten denzels collar anymore he'll pass out so does anyone have any suggestions. Lancashire Hunter 22
Use a rope slip lead aswell as the collar that way u can control how loose or tight the loop is that's around his neck. And when you see a potential slip for him loosen the loop off enough so that when your with in distance u get the loop and slip him that's what I do as that's the only lead I have at the moment or put a extra hole in the collar. Taz-n-Lily 62
If he's not going to run use a martingale collar. It's like a choke collar but adjustable so that it doesn't go tight enough to throttle the dog. There is no way a snakehead can get out of it. And my dog was an expert before I tried this type of collar. Quote Link to post
