As we all know, most of the ice on the poles of our planet is floating about. So it is displacing the same weight of water. Try it out like I did. Get a glass of vodka ( or what ever you like to drink with ice ) and drop a few ice cubes in it so they dont touch the bottom of the glass and mark the vodka level on the glass. When they have melted the level will not have changed ....... if you can wait that long without drinking the stuff, as that is the hard part of the experiment.
