Day Walkers

Recommended Posts

You know what I'm sick of reading on here, day walkers bragging about their dogs and when it comes to the crunch, don't live up to the hype. It's f***ing easy to bum up a dog on here, get couple of your mates to agree or better still, have a few accounts yourself to verify the claims.

Take the Lucas and bulldozer match. Both dogs before the match killing 5/5, a 4,5,6 minute course the norm. That's half an hour of flat out running. Some dogs to do that. Plenty to back up the claims 'with me own eyes'. Best 2 dogs on the net if not the isles if you believe the hype. Finally we all get a chance to hear what these mighty hare slayers can do on the most worshipped ground....... 2 f***ing hares each. And at that one is a kick up, bravo, give me a pup pleeeeease.

Then the self claimed winner of the draw(yes the kick up merchant) goes on to race in the coveted forley cup. This cup has be heralded as the ultimate test for all lurchers, your dogs some dog to win this...... Only the best have done it..... Result? 3/3? 4/4? 5/5? No, 2 f***ing hares and one was already f***ing run!!!!

Now I'm only using these 2 dogs as examples of the bullshit that gets spewed on here on a daily bases. Iceman had a puppy competition, I glanced at it occasionally. Think it ran from August to May. These dogs were the offspring of super dogs that folk could recite the ancestory away back to roman times. Most of what I read the dogs were catching f**k all. Pups from legendary dogs, f**k all???? So I ask you, why the f**k do these dogs get bummed up to f**k but when it's time to show your hand, the owners are left standing with their pants down!!! Is it because its all just hype to sell pups? Surely not...

Good post, theres only a small minority of the fraternity do themselves and dogs justice, the internet harbours alot of nobs and before kc says it..yes im one of them :toast:

It's a sad fact that too many lurcher owners these days see their dogs as some sort of kudos thing. Whatever happened to the lurchers which went out quietly and worked with no fanfare,no shouting, no

You know what I'm sick of reading on here, day walkers bragging about their dogs and when it comes to the crunch, don't live up to the hype. It's f***ing easy to bum up a dog on here, get couple of yo

A good dog is exactly that don't matter a shite if it runs day, night, field or fen...sadly it's just part of the dog scene all this knocking of dogs and snidey remarks about their owners...to a degree

Well said baw when I was younger I would go coursing with my uncles pre ban and his mates would be there they went for sport , they'd have a laugh and wouldn't go coursing with anyone they diddnt know just kept themselves to themselves , and the only money that changed hands was money for dinner and fuel , they diddnt go round bragging about what there dogs did they diddnt even talk about the day out around other folk it was something that was done together , I myself took what they did on board I only tell good mates about what my dogs do if they ask and I prefer to go day walking just me and the dogs , obviously I'd like to go with other folk but all you hear is my dog this my dog that and is does my nut in , you get them saying lets have a match as if that's what the game is about sad how folk are all about being the best owning the best

It's the only way to do it mate and your talking preban when you could do it legal and brag without a door getting caved in. Can you imagine what this lot would have been like preban lol? Some folk need a circus round them to feel better about themselves. Unfortunately gun ringing isn't like that. It's a quiet pastime, or atleast it should be.

Yep imagine pre ban lol even more arguments  but that's how things are I suppose just sad really

Well said baw they will be spitting the dummies oot again plodders

 cheers mate. It's not even so much the so called big boys, the guys who own the pups from these legends are even worse on here in my book. They put a pic up of some obscure plodder, here's my dog....... Nice dog mate, how is it? ...... Thanks mate, dogs doing well, its from the same litter as scud missile who's doing 5/5 field or fen, sires shows your money, dams the great grand daughter of whisper it loudly!!!! They bum their dogs up on the back of its parents and siblings!!! f***ing hell..... The dogs done fuckall but pose and its already a potential money maker. Sad times indeed......

Couldn't agree more...."nice pup mate"...that's all it is, a nice pup!! I'm not interested in oh it's out of this and the sire took this and the dam took this, grand parents took all quarry blah blah blah....means diddly squat if you don't train the dog properly.

 exactly mate. I could sell someone a rife and scope, it won't turn them into an ace sniper. Same with dogs, how you handle it and train it makes it what it is. Yes the dog needs to have it to begin with but good dogs throw duff litters just the same so it's great aunt and what she done means f**k all. It was probably owned by someone who put the time into it, never got a new pup every season, etc etc....

ffs baw your going to ruin these super stud,s repution if you keep this up some people will start beliving u that there not all there cracked up to be. :D you might even get a 3 week ban for upsetting these lads if the mod see this  .

I was talking about this the other day .... Now I have never really lived anywhere where I could give a coursing dog fair work BUT I know do so I am very tempted to to get a pup in over the summer to see exactly how difficult this top coursing dog training is ... I have done very well racing the greys and the lurchers I have kept have done their job well for me ..... So me mr nobody who only keeps crappy little lurchers may well get a dog in and take on these top trainers of the ultimate dogs to see how I do ...........

Why is there all this moaning on here about dogs competing? Why shouldn't folk compete if thats what they want to do? Ive been brought up with Greyhound racing and stood many a night at the flapping track and thats the most competative night ever....lots of bitching goes on, of course it does....nobody wants to loose when you put the time and effort and more so the money into getting a dog into shape for it too loose.

Is it just the guys who never win anything that like a moan......Baw?... :whistling::D

 that's fine and dandy if the dogs getting bummed up are the real McCoy...... But when it's time to prove they are or aren't...... They rarely are. That's the issue. Not about guys competing, it's the bragging 5/5 etc until its time to prove it then its....... Too much cover, couldn't fund anymore hares, etc etc.
