eriko 0
Hi, could someone please explain the reasoning for this law "It is an offence to shoot wildfowl or game with a self-loading gun having a magazine capacity of more than two cartridges."? I'm new to shotguns and this seems to limit my options, as I hope to rough shoot. Thanks, Erika

Saves you going mad peppering loads of geese in a flock.
eriko 0
Thanks for the explanation. I'm mostly exposed to US hunting, and it just seemed a really odd law with that sort of a background. I've always been more interested in rifles, but lately getting really excited about shooting a shotgun and all the different options the one tool can provide.
Art 20
We have the same law here, at least for dove shooting. I'm not sure about other species and other parts of the country. Of course a dove moves too fast to shoot at more than 3 times and as tegater said it deserves to get away if you haven't hit it in 3 but it is frustrating when you get on a really good shoot and the next group of birds is on top of you before you have time to reload from the previous. For those that shoot at birds as poorly as me it doesn't matter how many shots you have anyway. I can hit clays pretty fair but always botch it on the birds. I think I'm not leading enough. I keep getting invitations to shoot but it's just because I help keep the birds on the move for other chaps to knock them down. Just nice to be out there at any rate.
