Oh here we go, a member of the master gaming race and all...:laugh:

PC will always win on graphics, but that's only half of the story.. What set up have you got then? Suppose you've got a twin titan set up with 16 GB of GDDR5 RAM connected to a 40 inch 4k screen eh?

And people call me a geek.......

Shhh, I just read stuff like that on the game websites,I ain't got a clue what its all about... :whistling::laugh:

You defo are a geek

Honestly Malt and Joe...go back and just read from the start what you've just written you pair of sad b*****ds...."ermmmm is the 63578325 compatible with the GPU joe?"...."I'll check that Mal but I'm

Come on then, get your specs up? :D steambox is the way forward after this gen, if they take off. Best of both worlds then.. I like the static nature of the console, the fixed nature of the hardware means that developers have to get the best out of what's there. With PC the games get more demanding as the years go on and the performance goes down. Unless you upgrade regular you have to start trading performance for graphics..

are you talking about the new console/pc piston? by valve? theres still a few things unclear about it, ill be following the progress..

ps4 fans will need to find a cooling mod, or could be faced with the heating problems laptop gamers have

Budget build about 2 years ago

AMD Phenom II X4 955 CPU

MS 870C45 Mobo

8GB DDR3 1333 Mushkin Silverline Memory

ATI 6770 GPU

Aria Black 600w PSU

Antec 900 Case( used same case for 2 builds)

hoping to replace cpu psu and gpu

..and as you are aware, both next gen consoles are based on PC architecture so lazy arsed and poorly optimised ports from console should be a thing of the past when the next gen gets going.. What's that? Thank you console gamers, now we should be able to enjoy the same games as you guys do and not put up with an inferior version! :D

aye but they will be stuck as they are for how many more years? PC architecture from what year? PC specs are changing all the time. id much rather PC port to console, more fair :D

I'm not a PC guy, but the next gen consoles use the same basic x86 architecture as PC's have been using since the mid '80s.. The hardware specs might change and get more powerful as the years go on but the way it all works don't change..

 at the rest of your post which I didn't quote..

the ps4 cpu is still something that would use in a laptop, not a gaming pc, an old pc should still be able to match that.. amd do sell some decent cpus, for the prince hence mine in current pc, intel cpus are still on top though..

Anyone want to buy call of duty ghosts for the ps4? It only came out last week.

PS3 or PS4 mate? If its the PS3 one you can upgrade to the ps4 version for a tenner. You download the game for ps4 but you need to keep the disk to play it.

Only one ps4 ordered now,and other kid changed mind and wanted a psp vita,so that's couple hundred saved, lol

That's handy! You can use the vita to remotely play PS4 games off the PS4 instead of on the TV! Are you sure one lad hasn't talked the other into getting it for that reason?
It's for the ps4

Lad that wanted Xbox changed to ps4 so said they could share one pmsl.not having 2 in the house.

I don't understand the way it works, but there's something about the way it's integrated on the system alongside a decent GPU.. It won't be matched by an 'old' PC at all..

my current old amd 3.2 four core would match the 1.6 8 cores of the ps4. id put my neck on the line and say maybe some of the top end old intel 2 cores might match the ps4 cpu.

consoles are made for games only so i guess that were they can get away with lower spec to run most games, thepc is required to do more hence better spec... ive no doubt there will be games in the next few years that the ps4 will struggle to run compared to a decent pc.. or wil contine to have the same game for both console and pc but with different eye candy etc kinda like gta 5, there will be a pc version later, still a port but with better graphic options etc..

Been away at football with my boy, but I was looking at specs before I went..

From what I can work out, the PS4 beats your technical specs on everything bar the CPU.. Much faster and much more powerful GPU, faster RAM, etc. Your PC is only 2 years old, and while you're right about PC's being more powerful and continuing to get powerful, the graphics performance is a lot better than you're trying to say it is. Like you say, it's a dedicated games machine, it doesn't have to be a jack of all trades like a PC. From what I've read, a lot of the computing will be carried out by the GPU, a powerful CPU isn't as important with the way the PS4 will work.. It won't beat a dedicated mid to high range gaming rig, but on the other hand it will cost a lot less.

my pc has been built for 2 years by me, the hardware is older hence the buget build at the time.. the ps4 gpu at the moment is what nearly two years old? thats before its even in the shops.. as it stands the ps4 gpu is better than mine, no doubt but my machine has another 8gb memory that can be used with the gpu like on rome 2 total war.. can also plug a new gpu in at anytime, even 2 if i ever have the £ lol
