My next door neighbour called John M, who was only 16 or 17 years old at the time, was bag man for Victor Minshaw and they took a dog called Whizz, a blue and tan bitch, she was a a daughter of Blue and grand-daughter of ASD Bulpa, on the dams side, and she caught 108 rabbits and 1 hare single handed near Scotch Corner in the early 90's. Its a well known fact in our area, but its also known that Blue took over 100 rabbits single handed on more than one occasion. My dads friend called Sherman from Keswick was the bag man on that occasion and he was also there when Blue killed 96 running solo on a well known place called White Gates near Penrith

I've never known or seen a dog be able to catch 6 hares single handed or in a brace.

3 is the most,Even fit, experienced, faithful and determend dogs would run themselves to death. Just to catch a hare is a real grueller of a challenge for any dog.

So the rabbit dog it would be.

Yes rabbits seem to breed pretty much all year round.Last year ferretting we would get a few bolt in a set then a lie up on young when ferret reaches them and this was in november.Winters seem abit mild. And this pattern went on for a while.
