Nik_B 3,790
What is pissing most people off is that she is getting a purpose built house worth 210 grand when many people could only dream of that. My brother and his missus are working themselves to death just to get the deposit for a mortgage. That woman should be doing something for her money, even if she works in a shop and then gets benefits to top her up at least she would have some morals. What made me laugh is that she had done some kind of course so she could set up her own business having never worked a day in her life....why do these people have such ridiculous expectations? Start off at the bottom and work your way up is the way I was taught...not to jump in to the perfect job.
paulus 26
I might be old fashioned mate but I never knew you had a choice either to work or not. I thought everyone able had to work. thats what im trying to get at, the choice bit relates to only one piece of benifit be it esa,jsa or income support all the rest are available to people in and out of work. whilst nobody should be able to chose not to work without good reason, then it must be ballanced out by saying nobody in work shouldnt need to claim benifits but it just doesnt work like that in the real world anymore, the wage is kept artifically low by the use the benifit system to top it up, they then blame the out of work people for the cost of the benifit bill all the time the people who benifit from this arrangement make yet larger and larger amounts of money are you getting it yet

Tiercel 6,986
Paulus, you are just repeating what I have been saying for years. We the vast majority of the populace are just cannon fodder, we are there to make them money. The biggest political brainwave of the last centuary was the creation of the middle classes. Margret Thatcher knew that with a divided poulation they would conquer. So they fostered the idea that people could make themselves rich and people bought it. Look at the minimum wage, was that brought in to help the low wage earners? Was it feck, it was brought in so that companies could get away with paying slave labour wages, while all the time makeing bigger profits for the companies who are owned by the very people who brought out "the minimum wage".
