Blackbriar 8,569
Black briar, I know atleast a dozen folk on disability who are at it. If your able to work you should. Not all jobs are up ladders or working heavy machinery. Every time this debate starts, it isn't long before the "I know this bloke...." or "I know loads of people..." bullshit begins. still smoke them. i can remember my school days 10 no6 34p and a bag of chips for dinner 16p, all the shops sold fags to anybody and even in 1`s, i even remember being sent over the coop to fectch 60 no10 for my old man everyday i use to get change out of a quid when i was even younger i can also remember him saying when i first passed my test that petrol would soon be a pound a gallon chips 15p a bag when I was at school. Passed my test, petrol was 36p a litre. To be fair though, a £1 note was like a tenner now lol. Can mind playing jingles with 5 pences. That's where you threw it at a wall, closes to the wall won. Made a small fortune at that My first petrol was 72p per GALLON.For all those who don't know, that's 4 1/2 litres !!!

Attack Fell Terrier 864
Bringing eleven kids into this world without the means to support them makes you to my mind one selfish uncaring bstard, how anyone can defend her or those like her defies belief. I've said it before and I'll repeat it, if people like her had to genuinely provide for her brood with no help they wouldn't have them, FACT. They know the system works for them. Withdraw child allowance for all after two kids, that's a better contraception method than any other guaranteed. FACT! Then why was it years ago before there was a welfare system there was still loads of kids being born into severe poverty? Its no different to today, there has to be more done to help these people at the bottom. People in he community used to help one another, especially those that were struggling. Nowadays we point the finger at them and sneer! You ain't got a clue what you're talking about IMO.
Nik_B 3,790
Child mortality was much higher as well and also more boys meant they could go out to work and bring home money for the family. Can you imagine that happening these days? IPople like this woman should work anyway even if they continue to get the benefits. Its about morality and bringing your kids up with a work ethic. All people out of work shouldn't be tarred with the same brush though, this woman seems to have made a lifestyle choice to not work and instead have more and more kids to increase her wellfare payments. As has been said before, divide and conquer. most of the ney-sayers are aspiring middle class, who actually think that they can get rich. It suits every goverment to have a two tier system where you have the haves and the have-nots. just throw the middle classes a bone and they will do the goverments work for them. IE; keeping the people in power, in power. Communites are torn apart by greed, avarice and jelousy. That is what they want and need, as stops people banding together against them. My maternal granddad was one of 10, they were poor as f**k and there was no welfare system in them days.. They all grew up in a tiny house without a pot to piss in.. My father was one of 8, they too all grew up in a tiny cottage, again poor as f**k on fisherman's wages.. Poor big families like that were not uncommon in those days, certainly more common than they are now. Did people used to pass judgement on those poorer and worse off than themselves in those days? Did they f**k.. A lot of it these days is nothing more than plain old jealousy IMO..
Malt 379
..and another thing.. All I've read on this thread is abuse aimed at this woman because she's in receipt of so much state help, not one person has asked what the f**k the fathers of these kids are contributing or calling them names.. They are as much to blame for her situation as she is yet all the ire is being directed at her just because she is the one requiring state help.. Like I said in my previous post, I reckon most people commenting are jealous of her and the money she's receiving instead of being concerned about anything else.. TC Tiercel, you're spot on mate! People turning their back on their own people because they've "bettered" themselves! It's a real sad thing for me. Spot on mate, back in the day, if Mrs Smith up the road was struggling, the Neighbours would chip in together to throw a pot of stew together so Mrs Smith and her brood would have something decent to eat. Now, rather than help they'd slag her off and sit back and watch her struggle.
torchey 1,328
Its the c**ts that come to this country and rape the system that piss me....theres a lot worse than a british girl with 11 kids to worry about..
WILF 46,961
If we are going all "old days" (and I do get what people are saying about that) the main difference was that most of these big familys would have had one Dad/Mum, they may well have been church goers and likely raised with Christian principals at home and in school. A woman carrying on willy nilly with various blokes and having multiple kids to multiple Fathers would have been outcast in most communitys All of these values we once held dear in this country have been thrown aside wholesale in favour of the "anything gos" socialist way of living.........that is the major difference between cases like this woman and big familys from yesteryear IMHO

I'm defo not jealous but since I seem to spend most of the time handing over huge chunks of money to the tax man it boils my blood that it is being used to fund a lifestyle choice rather than helping people who are just down on their luck. I have no problem helping people providing they help themselves first. She could get a job in a shop and still get most of the benefits and council house...then no one would be complaining.
Paid 935
See, i pay tax, then they give it all back as tax credits. How longs that been going on for? no wonder the countries in debt.
