Adam-RunningDog 1
field target trophys has to be sorry haha, unbelievably solid hard pellet not one has a defect in the pack well i never found one and i always test a tough pellet is pinch the skirt in my fingers and if it fold easy they are too soft for me i like a solid pellet because makes hell of a thud when it hits the head and you know it isnt going to fail the job, and field target trophys are solid and light and can easily finish of a rabbit at long distance no problem hope it helped Adam Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Lots of different views but the point is different pellets do suit some guns/barrels/actions better than others....Accupells were great in my Daystate but my Falcon hates them! I tend to use AA Field (5.51) almost exclusively these days in my 26ft lb Falcon, AA Hunter are not as good and not as accurate..and at 26ft lb will often go right through a rabbit therefore wasting energy!! Bisley Magnum also performs very well in my Falcon but at 21.4g I think I am a little underpowered, I consider 30ft lb would be the minimum for these!! FTT are a good second to the AA Field for me! The old Eley Wasp (Blue) as mentioned by some is very good in most guns really chambered in .22, many guns called .22 are actually 5.5mm, but if you have a genuine .22 you will probably find the Wasps the best of the bunch these days! These are great in my 1972 Airsporter!! Quote Link to post

Guest oldskool
As regards Ely Wasps; if it doesn't have the name ELY on the tin, just Wasp, then they are made by BSA. There are still some stocks of Ely knocking around and they are far superior to the plain Wasp. As regards calibre my .177 hates either of them but in .22 flavour they are fine in all of my guns. They are a very short pellet compared to the likes of AA Field and I find they are that light and short they corkscrew using my .177 guns, so I use Bisley LRG, Accupell or AA Field. the tins i have says 'eley'!! there as common as muck on ebay!! got myself stock up with a load of them there and in comparison to that accupell shit i paid a tonne for eley are twice the pellet regarding accuracy and knockdown power Quote Link to post
