Rapid FAC Bisley Magnums

Rapid 12 ft/lbs Air Arms Field (51 or 52) Crosman Accupel

the AA fileld is a particularly soft pellet as opposed to the hard lead of the accupel tending to give it greater distortion on impact and less chance of over penetration, (punching holes in things is next to useless IMO) but the choice of pellet depends on the choice of target.. for close range pigeon shooting in a barn or warehouse for instance i'd use hollow points the idea being to give the maximum 'transmission of energy'.

(the other thing to bear in mind is that some barrels are notoriously 'pellet fussy' and simply wont perform even with the highest quality ammo you can get hold of)

After many experiments in my TX200 Mk2 (.22) I found AA field the most accurate.

But as I was told when I asked a similar question on here, each gun is different, even two guns of the same make

may not respond the same with a brand of pellets :hmm:

So, always see which pellets suit your own gun.:thumbs:

Most of your top hunters and target shooters use the JSB factory output.

These include AA field / Hunter

JSB exact

Daystate FT

Webley laserdome

plus the new lighter mossies

Accus are dirty and have indeterminate quality

Bis mag too heavy in 12ft/lb .22

I use the JSB in:

S10 FAC x 2

Webley raider .22

S410 FAC .22

S410 12ft/lbs .177

Daystate MK3 x 2 .177

Daystate air wolf .22 30ft/lb

Falcon Raptor .22 12ft/lb & 24ft/lb

Steyr HP

Accus are good in falcons but dirty

As regards Ely Wasps; if it doesn't have the name ELY on the tin, just Wasp, then they are made by BSA. There are still some stocks of Ely knocking around and they are far superior to the plain Wasp. As regards calibre my .177 hates either of them but in .22 flavour they are fine in all of my guns. They are a very short pellet compared to the likes of AA Field and I find they are that light and short they corkscrew using my .177 guns, so I use Bisley LRG, Accupell or AA Field.
