Malc 1 made a cracking mule cage, maybe he would make a few more if there's enough folk want them?.But as far as keeping birds i myself hate seeing one bird in a cage and i do think there happier in pairs and a happy bird sings better, this is also true with mules being in bigger cages than those poxy mule cages as a fit bird can and will sing longer and louder than a bird stuck sitting on a perch all day.So a mule or two in a big enough cage like the one Malc1 uses and you won't go far wrong imo.

If you want to hear a really good Goldie song sit out in the garden in the summer. They allways sound better sat in a tree wild and free rather than fretting away in a poxy little cage.

you kidding there as rare f**k round here.used to get them in my last garden when i was really young.cats probally.

Fair enough i suppose im lucky lucky as they are everywhere down here.Ive kept all sorts of british finches years ago but as ive got older i really dont like seeing them stuck in them tiny little cages where all they can do is hop from perch to perch.I believe if if they should at least be kept in aivierys or as bigger cage as possible.

I have to take 2 mules out off my 17ft aviary soon so i can put the bird's into breeding pair's..they will be going into a smaller 8ft x 8ft x4ft wide aviary and i feel guilty enough doing that never mind sticking them in a little mule cage.. :cray:

I've just split my aviary into smaller flights and paired everything off and i feel the same about robbing them of flying space Millet but if i just left them to it i'd surely have dead and injured birds once the old urge gets into some of the cocks i have and it's easier to keep tabs on everything so there are pro's for the birds well being really,i've had a escapes as well in the past and feel bad when i recatch them but they wont survive most of the time if left out and i have a redpoll cock now who is tormenting me from a tree next to my flights :censored::laugh: but i have a plan and if not i'll keep the feeder he's feeding from topped up and he can give freedom a go.
