Rifle Scope Advice

Recommended Posts

If you were to get a scope with high magnification make sure you can focus it close range .A scope with high magnification that can focus clearly at close range will cost a bit more it seems to me.So if you dont want to spend to much on a scope, a scope with less magnification may be better .What is important is to make sure the scope can focus clearly at close range I feel .I have some high magnification scopes but I tend to set my scopes at 9x when shooting rabbits .high magnification is fun to shoot targets at long ranges you can see your pellet holes .

Exactly what Danny says... I use one magnification for hunting...x7, and I use x9 on my zero occasionally, x7 I find is a good variable because it makes the target large enough but doesn't show your minute movements as much which automatically keeps your groups tighter.

3x or 4x at night

10x during the day.

If you are only target shooting, I love high power scopes, however if you want to hunt, get used to lower magnifications as it increases your field of view and flattens out your trajectory over hunting ranges.

Check your trajectory and holdover at the magnification you want to use on Chairgun and get practising!
