Yes matey they are 5 month old today the 1st March...I just let them do their own thing Byron, they get a lot of mileage just at walking pace and they are hardly ever on a leash and if they want to have a run then they do so..all our dogs have been brought up the same...my dogs more than likely wont start proper work until 13/14 months old but upto then they will be out and about each and every day just growing up really and being puppies....hopefully as they mature and get ready for work all the education to the countryside, groundwork (jumping, recall, stock breaking, retrieving) etc that they will of had will stand them in good stead for what lies ahead?...I can't for the life of me see how leaving a jukel in a kennel from puppyhood to the age of being ready to work can do it any good?...you just have to do what you see fit/has worked for you and cross your fingers and everything else and knowing you've gave them the best opportunity you could of?...after that it really is upto the dogs ...Atb Andy 5 Quote Link to post

First dog of my own that I ever experienced hunting with was an Alsation x Collie...she was a brilliant hunter and would and did kill ANYTHING ..she had a bite on her that a pit bull would of been proud of lol,clever..holy shit it could nigh on talk..it was like this Pom I have here lol,I couldn't go ANYWHERE without it following me,I often left her and went out with the lurchers, maybe five or sx miles from home but the old bugger would track me down if she got out..id have another like her in a flash..what a companion she was and would put her life on the line for you...Atb Andy 1 Quote Link to post

FUJI 17,327
Had 4 hours out earlier up on the Fells,1st dilemma was the car wouldn't start so had to go and get a new battery ffs, when I finally reached my destination I spun the car around to park up only to catch the bottom and rip the plastic trim from around the bottom front plus knock the mud flap off lol...yeehaa f**k it!!! Anyways had a real good walk, went up and over a Fell top I'd never done before although I have walked completely around it several times but took the bull by the horns today and went for it,by heck was it windy up there, was forecast rain but thankfully it never arrived although the sky was anything but bright...just had the pups and my sidekick today...really enjoyed it even with the cold wind.. 1 Quote Link to post
