Whats The Strangest Thing You Have Done In A High Seat?

Recommended Posts

I thought I would ask this question following a trip out on Friday.

One of the farms I shoot has a lovely wood and out of courtesy to the neighbours I call round in introduce myself and say Im shooting next door, this is a good way to extend your land. I did this to a nice guy who owns a bit of wood and a couple of fields and has a small group of out buildings/workshops he lets to people, im sure its full of stolen cars, but rule 1 whatever you see on a farm never comment, ask, or get involved quickest way to lose it, anyway turns out he has a deer issue and would love to see the back of them, he showed me the area which is a bank that drops to a gully and nice green fields the other side, perfect for shooting. slot everywhere and they must be used to the noise, I asked if i could put up a high seat and he said do as you want but there is some old scafolding kicking around and he would make me one. a few weeks ago he txt to say it was up and I left it so they could get used to it, well thursday I saw this "thing" 4 ft scafolding sections put together to make it 25ft high with pallets around the top and an old car seat to sit on wow, all out riggers as support, what fun backing on to these workshops, I climbed up taking a rope with me and pulled up the unloaded rifle and sat listening to Steve Wright in the afternoon blaring out on radio 2 which was great. Saw about 8 deer cross in front of me walking and grazing but they were all small young ones, many rabbits and a fox walked through which I dropped as the dark was coming in, but sitting listening to the radio blaring out was a treat. funny thing was the wife rang and i was talking really quietly in reply to her questions.

so whats the strangest thing you have done in a high seat?
